A Picture a Day.

Oops almost forgot today as daughter number 2 was using the computer for her on-line exams at my normal log on time!

Anyway, here is one to remind us we have a load of windsurf equipment on site so lets hope Andrew Simpson Centre can get some new windsurfers up and running when we get back on the water!

A Picture a Day.

It was Megan's turn in the Eric Twiname championships on Saturday in the 4.7 VR Inshore fleet. She had 4 great races with lots of tactical moves required to move up the leader board. She was 3rd in her heat placing her 6th overall. A few have questioned why her VR boat is 'Silver Lady' which goes back to early regattas where she always came second to get the silver and Richard at K2O nicknamed her the 'Silver Lady'.

A Picture a Day.

Millie would have been at Rutland this weekend competing for the Midland Topper zone in the RYA Eric Twiname championships, instead the racing was run through VR Inshore. There were 4 races with 3 to count. Millie's practice in the Bartley series seemed to pay off as she got some great starts in her races and read the shifts and pressure well. She was in a group of 16 sailors and was 3rd in her group. When all 65 competitors had completed their racing the scores were consolidated and Millie was placed 13th overall and 2nd Midland sailor - well done Millie.

VR Inshore password issue

For those trying to join the racing last night it was a bit of a struggle. I could communicate with those on Whatsapp so we captured a few but not everyone. I also posted the password as bartley1 in the race title and will do this again if there are issues another time.

I have tested the custom race last night and this morning and it all seems to be running smoothly with the usual password so we will continue to use bartley as usual from tonight.

If there are issues again I will use bartley1 and post on whatsapp and in the race name.

I think the issue arose because they were upgrading the VR app to include Aukland and remove an issue where race scores showed 1st place twice on the leader board. I logged the first race but then it rebooted and the custom race was gone and it wouldn't accept the password. Hopefully this is a one-off and we will be back to normal tonight.

I guess there are more ways than 1 to propel a boat (what are we teaching them in K2O!). Thanks to Jonathan North for this photo.

VR Inshore scores after race 8

The competition is hotting up (as are the race tactics!). There is feedback and training via Zoom from the 'Master' Bakerboy. Here are the standings up to race 8. Still plenty of time to change the scores - you have to be in it to win it so see you at 6.30pm tonight for more action.
