Offshore Sailing - Greg Pace

If any Club members have an interest in offshore sailing can you let me know, as I intend to have a 'scoping' meeting to see what the level of interest is. This may appeal to members who:-

* Have never sailed in an offshore sailing boat and would like to do so for the first time,
*Already own or have a share in an offshore boat here in the UK or abroad - this may be an avenue to get some willing hands to help you move your boat from time to time, or just have some company during trips,
* Have previously done some offshore sailing and would now like to build on this with some RYA qualifications (Comp Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster),
* Would like to meet other Club members with a view to forming an offshore boating syndicate (shared boat ownership),
* Need to mileage build before taking the next RYA qualification,
* Are considering entering a team for offshore racing events i.e. Round the Island,
* Would like to attend meetings to listen to guest speakers, to learn more about the fun of offshore sailing.

Depending on the level of interest and with the support of the Committee, I may look to start a Bartley offshore section. Please speak to me at the Club (usually there on Saturdays or Wednesday afternoon) or drop me a text.

Thanks, Greg (07982 417622)

Bar will be opening again! Saturday 23 March

Just a quick note to let members know we are opening the bar up this Saturday, so if you fancy a crafty one after sailing we'd love to see you.

We have a few volunteers helping to run the bar with me, they are:

Marie Allen, Chris Bownes, Steve Ward, Simon Hardiman, Tony Cliff, Herr Commodore and Nick Eaves.

We will have the basic essentials to begin with (but we will have beer and wine!), and will build stock levels up based on demand for our services. So.... let us know your thoughts as we develop over the coming weeks.

See you there!

Greg Pace
